Jharsuguda, a highly industrialized and urbanized district in Odisha, is rich in minerals like coal, quartzite, and fire clay. It has numerous industrial units, including Mahanadi Coalfields, Vedanta Alumina, Ultratech Cement, Bhusan Steel and Power, and TATA Refractories. In 2021-22, Jharsuguda had 1124 MSME units, investing INR 9633.5 lakh, and creating 6352 jobs.

If you’re travelling from another city then it is best to take a flight to Jharsuguda. Nearest Airport is Veer Surendra Sai Airport Jharsuguda. It is connected to Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Raipur. The airport is located on National Highway 49, with ample last-mile connectivity to the main city which is about 9kms away.

By Train

Jharsuguda is connected to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bangalore through a network of railway lines. The Jharsuguda Railway Station is an important railway junction on the Tatanagar - Bilaspur section of the Howrah-Nagpur-Mumbai line and the Jharsuguda-Vizianagaram line.
